Finis is an AI co-writing tool that helps you continue and finish manuscripts you wrote yourself. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

1. Your work only

You may only import text that you wrote and own the rights to. Every import requires you to confirm this. Importing someone else's work — a published book, another writer's story, scraped content from any website — is a violation of these terms and grounds for account termination. If a rights holder notifies us that imported content infringes their rights, we will remove it and may suspend the account responsible.

2. You own everything

The manuscripts you import remain yours. The chapters generated with the help of the AI are yours. We claim no ownership, no license beyond what is technically required to operate the service (storing your text, sending it to an AI provider to generate your chapters), and no rights to publish, share, or display your work to anyone but you. You can export your full manuscript at any time.

3. What the service does

Finis analyzes your manuscript to build a story bible, extracts a profile of your writing voice, plans a story arc, and generates draft chapters. Generated text is a draft for you to edit — we make no guarantee of quality, accuracy, or fitness for publication. You are the author; you decide what stays.

4. AI processing

To generate chapters, your text is transmitted to third-party AI model providers under contracts that prohibit them from using it to train their models. We never use your writing to train models, and we never share it with other users.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the service to produce content that is illegal, or to attempt to pass off another person's work as your own. Don't abuse, probe, or disrupt the service. Fair-use rate limits apply to each plan.

6. Subscriptions

Paid plans renew monthly and can be canceled anytime from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Chapter allowances reset each billing month and do not roll over.

7. Termination & changes

You can delete your account at any time, which deletes your stories from our systems. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-app before they take effect.

8. Liability

The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
